About Us

Nominee was founded with several guiding principles, rooted in the overarching belief that it’s time for government to be truly by the people, for the people.

We believe in equality: to open up the same opportunities for all people who want to make a difference in their communities.

We believe in equity: providing tools and resources that address the barriers of entry many folks face when trying to make a difference.

We believe in empathy: to lift up the people traditionally sidelined by politics, we have to understand each other and help each other break down those barriers.

We believe in justice: let’s break down those barriers for good—so future generations always have access to the same tools and resources that make successful politicians today.

To achieve that, we ask that our mentors and mentees share these same values, but it’s more than that.

We conduct ourselves with open-mindedness: a mentor with experience in an area a mentee is curious about might not share the same background, but the right approach (and vice versa).

We encourage imagination: taking what we learn from conversations with each other, and building a vision for future campaigns from them.

We respect each other: we trust each other to keep what we learn confidential.

Through following these ethics, we seek to empower the most diverse generation in history to step up to the stage and make government reflective of it.
