How to Finance Your Political Campaign
In our first two courses of Campaign 101, we taught you how to file your candidacy and begin building a team. Next, you’ll need to figure out how to finance your campaign to get it to the finish line. Campaign 101’s third course, “Fundraising,” teaches you how to set up a strong foundation for those fundraising efforts.
Your main instructor for this course is Emily Neckes, who has run fundraising operations for several key roles in local, state, and federal campaigns throughout Massachusetts, and is currently a director at deWit Impact Group.
“Making the ask,” aka developing your fundraising pitch, is the most important part of beginning your fundraising campaign as it will serve as a shared touchpoint no matter whether you are seeking individuals, groups, or hosting events to drum up financing. Here are some tips she shared with us (and you!) on how to hone that pitch:
Given we’re talking about finances here, this course includes not only instructional videos, but several templates, worksheets, and trackers to take the burden of creating them off you—so you can focus on getting the funds you need to run.
Here’s what you can expect in our Fundraising course:
How to build an effective fundraising strategy and raise the money you need to win
How and when to employ key fundraising tactics, including digital, events, and call time
How to ask people to donate to your campaign
How to “dial for dollars” and run effective call time
How to host successful fundraising events
