Creating A Compelling Policy Platform For Your Campaign
You’ve filed your candidacy, secured a team, and begun fundraising. Now, how do you hone the platform you’re running on, and translate that passion into policy that folks can get behind?
In Campaign 101’s fourth course, “Policy,” our instructors will teach you:
How to identify what issues are top of mind for voters in your community
Developing your policy platform and positioning
How to employ qualitative and quantitative research in your campaign
The importance of self research and opposition research
Preparing for debate events and key debate tactics to help get your message across
Gabriela Gonzalez—seasoned political activist and public policy professional involved with campaigns at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels in Canada—kicks off the course. She will break down the factors you need to consider when developing your platform and communicating your policy positions to voters. Covering both Canada and the US, it starts with whether you’re affiliated with a political party or running as an independent.
Rounding out the course, Gabriela is joined by Amitpal Singh, a co-founder of Economic Insights, previously a special assistant to the Prime Minister, as a ministerial advisor at Finance Canada, and on the policy team at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. Nominee’s co-founder and Chief Political Officer Katie Prisco-Buxbaum also brings her expertise in state- and nationwide campaigns in the US to help you prepare for debates.
